Ukrainian SBU and Special Operations Forces Destroy Up to Four Russian Su-34 Jets in Drone Strike on Volgograd’s Marinovka Airfield

Ukrainian forces, including the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Special Operations Forces (SOF), conducted a drone strike on the Marinovka airfield in Russia's Volgograd region. The operation targeted Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft, resulting in the destruction of two jets and damage to two others according to initial reports from the Ukrainian General Staff and SBU. However, subsequent claims from Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and intelligence sources assert that all four Su-34 aircraft were destroyed in the strike. The attack was carried out using long-range drones and took place at an airbase approximately 300 to 900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The Su-34 jets are used by Russia to conduct bombing missions on frontlines, including deploying KAB bombs. Russian sources have confirmed losses but have not specified the extent.
