Oh, man. Having people say exactly what’s on their mind - largely because they really care and want to see things improve - often sets racing apart from other sports. Eddie was exhibit A of that. RIP. https://t.co/jZuHtrYjIk
Sad to hear of the passing of longtime Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage. He was fiery, passionate and devoted to improving the race fan experience. I always enjoyed spending time with him. #RIP
It is with great sadness that I report my friend @eddiegossage, the former head of @TXMotorSpeedway & the guy who helped me tremendously thru the years as I built @KickinTheTires coverage of #NASCAR has died. His family is so nice our prayers. https://t.co/7Pt2ExHPVi
I liked Eddie a lot and have already missed his conversations, pressers and general banter on race weekends. I haven't been to Texas since he stepped down. He added to the show. Dude loved motorsports and I always appreciated that he loved it the way I felt like I did.
Eddie Gossage was truly one of a kind. So sorry to hear of his passing today. Not sure we’ll ever see a track promoter like him again in NASCAR. Will have more thoughts to share later, but what a loss.

Longtime Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage has passed away at the age of 65. While we may not have often agreed, I always enjoyed talking to Eddie and hearing his perspective on the happenings within Motorsports.
The Eddie Gossage news is terrible. Covering races at @TXMotorSpeedway was always better because of opportunities he provided. He didn’t always agree with me, but he always put the track first and that never changed. The Evel Knievel and Robbie Knievel stories were a bonus.
Horrible news. Thoughts are with Eddie’s family and those at the speedway. https://t.co/8M1AYYzFC8

Marcus Smith on Eddie Gossage: “Today we have lost one of the world’s biggest race fans. From his legendary promotions to the lasting relationships he developed throughout the sports and entertainment industries, Eddie Gossage meant so much to the world of motorsports.” https://t.co/3M2jmeg7xV
Speedway Motorsports says Eddie Gossage has died at 65. The timing is such a jolt. While so many of you think of Eddie as a NASCAR guy, or just the Texas guy, he was one of the very first supporters of what was originally the IRL (cont)
