Despite intense racing and a caution caused by Allgaier pushing up into another racer, Allgaier managed to maintain his lead, even as Ryan Sieg briefly took the lead with 18 laps remaining. Allgaier was able to regain his position at the front, with Herbst continuously narrowing the gap to just 0.339 sec back. The race saw Allgaier leading with a 0.4-second margin over Herbst in the final laps, after Austin Hill pitted with 30 laps to go.
