Yemeni Houthis Launch Hypersonic Missile Strike on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, Target USS Truman; Enforce No-Fly Zone

The Yemeni Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah, has intensified its military operations against Israel and the United States amid ongoing regional tensions. On May 7, 2025, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack targeting the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Truman. Subsequently, they launched a hypersonic ballistic missile strike on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, temporarily halting airport operations for about an hour. The missile attack was described as successful, with Israeli air defenses reportedly failing to intercept it. The Houthis stated that this strike was part of enforcing a no-fly zone over Israel and a response to the situation in Gaza. In addition to the missile attack, the Houthis employed a Yafa-type drone to hit a vital target in occupied Jaffa. They also issued warnings to airlines that continued flights to occupied Palestinian airports, maintaining a blockade on Israeli air and maritime navigation until the cessation of aggression against Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes have severely damaged Sana'a International Airport in Yemen, reducing it to ruins. The Houthis criticized the United States and Israel for failing to neutralize their military capabilities, accusing them of targeting civilian infrastructure to undermine Yemeni resilience.
