The US Navy's USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Air Wing intercepted an Iranian UAV operating in an unsafe manner during aircraft carrier operations in the Arabian Gulf. The aircraft was armed with AIM-9X Sidewinder, AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, and GBU-54 laser JDAMs. This follows a previous incident where a US Navy patrol aircraft overshot a runway and landed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, with divers stabilizing the plane to prevent it from lodging deeper into the reef.
