The U.S. House of Representatives has passed several pieces of legislation related to reproductive rights and support for pregnant women, amidst a national debate following the fall of Roe v. Wade. The Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, cosponsored by Rep. Lesko, aims to provide funding to Pregnancy Resource Centers, which has been supported by the 'ProLife' movement. Rep. Hinson, with Senator Rubio's support, passed legislation to assist pregnant college students. However, Democrats, including Senator Lujan and Rep. Jayapal, emphasized that nearly 18M women have lost access to abortion care and are working to expand reproductive care. They are also addressing the crisis in New Hampshire and the issue of sexual assault on campuses. The ACLU and Democratic representatives like Goldman and Sykes oppose the pro-life bills, arguing they fund anti-abortion propaganda centers and undermine reproductive freedom. President Biden has vowed to fight for women's reproductive health care decisions, as 21 states have already banned or restricted abortion access.
Grateful for @SpeakerJohnson’s leadership on pro-life issues & thankful for his support on the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, my legislation that passed the House this week. We will continue working together to save as many moms & babies as possible. https://t.co/i1kgUqtYHd
On the day Roe v. Wade was overturned, I vowed that I wouldn't back down in the fight to ensure women have the freedom to make their own reproductive health care decisions. Today, over a year and a half later, that promise stands. https://t.co/ZcQuOSROiq
All expecting mothers should have access to the resources available to them, including the help of dedicated pregnancy centers. The two bills passed in the House this week reaffirm that every life is sacred & help is there for mothers who need it.#ProLife https://t.co/euKTKlUakG
As extreme MAGA Republicans continue their push for a national abortion ban, I promise you this: I won’t EVER stop fighting to ensure that abortion access is guaranteed for every single American in every corner of this country.
After the fall of Roe v. Wade, 21 states have already banned or restricted safe access to abortion. Extremists will stop at nothing to strip away women’s freedoms. I’m fighting in Congress to make sure all women have the right to make healthcare decisions about their own bodies. https://t.co/cEdRJBd9sd
This week, I voted against extreme anti-abortion legislation that would take critical assistance away from struggling families to fund unregulated anti-abortion centers. Read my full statement here: https://t.co/jdQ8yjpKlv
Yesterday, I voted against extreme anti-abortion legislation that would take critical assistance away from struggling families to fund unregulated anti-abortion centers. Read my full statement here: https://t.co/jdQ8yjpKlv
This week, I spoke out against legislation from the Majority restricting women's access to reproductive healthcare. Next week, we’ll introduce bills to prohibit funding for misleading pregnancy centers and tackle the urgent issue of sexual assault on US campuses. https://t.co/z50lohPRCr
So-called ‘Crisis Pregnancy Clinics’ are anti-abortion propaganda centers masquerading as health care. For years, the GOP has worked to fund these 'clinics.' They tried again this week. I proudly voted no and will always vote against measures that undermine access to abortion.
It's been almost 51 yrs since Roe v. Wade gave women the right to make their own reproductive choices—& 18 mos. since the Trump-packed SCOTUS threw out decades of precedent & put women's health in danger. I won't stop fighting to pass a national law to codify Roe once & for all.
The ACLU recommended we vote no on yesterday’s #ProLife bills, claiming they undermine reproductive freedom by supporting pregnant women and funding pregnancy support centers. Can you get any more anti-life? A truly evil agenda - I voted YES for these crucial bills. https://t.co/0FxGeTGApQ
New Hampshire is no exception when it comes to the relentless attacks on abortion and reproductive health care since the fall of Roe v. Wade. Today, I joined advocates from @PPNHAF to highlight how this crisis is impacting women in the Granite State. https://t.co/hZPfpcGYBR
This week, the House passed my legislation with Senator @MarcoRubio to ensure that pregnant women on college campuses are empowered with resources to continue their education & have a healthy pregnancy. #ProLife https://t.co/KFTabF7D91
Almost 18M women no longer have access to abortion care in their state following the fall of Roe. While the GOP continues to push for extremist bans to jeopardize women's health, Democrats are working to expand reproductive care for all. https://t.co/Wj7F21YZDg
Congress passed the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act. I’m proud to have cosponsored such important legislation to ensure Pregnancy Resource Centers receive necessary funding to support families choosing LIFE!
