The U.S. Department of State has revoked the visas of British punk-rap duo Bob Vylan, cancelling the group’s 26-date tour of the United States that had been scheduled to begin in October. Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed the order after the duo’s Glastonbury Festival performance in which frontman Bobby Vylan led the crowd in the chant “Death to the IDF,” a reference to Israel’s military.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said in a statement that “foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” adding that the decision reflected the Trump administration’s policy of denying entry to individuals deemed to be supporting terrorism. A senior department official echoed that stance, saying Washington “will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists.”

The Glastonbury incident has prompted a broader backlash in the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Keir Starmer denounced the chant as “appalling hate speech,” while UK broadcast regulator Ofcom opened inquiries into why the BBC continued to live-stream the set. The BBC later apologised, saying it should have cut the broadcast. Avon and Somerset Police are reviewing footage to determine whether criminal charges are warranted.

Commercial fallout has followed swiftly. Talent agency United Talent Agency has dropped the act, and promoters have removed the U.S. dates from ticketing platforms. Bob Vylan remains booked for several European festival appearances later this summer, but the visa revocation bars any performances in the United States for the foreseeable future.
