U.S. Navy Meets 2025 Recruiting Goal Three Months Early With 40,600 Future Sailors Under President Trump

The U.S. Navy has met its Fiscal Year 2025 recruiting goal three months ahead of schedule, enlisting 40,600 future sailors. This achievement marks the second consecutive year the Navy has reached its recruitment target after falling short in 2023. Navy Secretary John Phelan credited the early success to the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary Pete Hegseth, noting a surge in morale across the force.

The milestone positions the Navy to send more than 40,000 recruits to basic training by the end of the summer. Additionally, other military branches including the Air Force, Space Force, and Army have also exceeded their 2025 recruiting goals months ahead of schedule. Pentagon officials highlighted that this surge in enlistment reflects increased enthusiasm to serve under the current administration, which has emphasized merit-based recruitment and reduced diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
