Trump Urges India and Pakistan to Halt Fighting After Operation Sindoor, Offers U.S. Assistance to Nuclear-Armed Neighbors

U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an immediate halt to the fighting between India and Pakistan, describing the conflict as 'a shame' and expressing hope for a swift resolution. Trump's comments came in response to India's missile strikes on Pakistan, which followed a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, that killed 25 Indians and 1 Nepali, including tourists.

Trump, speaking from the Oval Office, emphasized his good relations with both nations and his desire to see them resolve their differences peacefully. He offered U.S. assistance to help end the conflict, stating, 'If I can do anything to help, I will be there.' U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also closely monitoring the situation.

The conflict escalated after India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan reported casualties and vowed to retaliate, leading to increased tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
