Trump's Envoy Steve Witkoff Lands at Vnukovo Airport to Negotiate 30-Day Ukraine Ceasefire

Steve Witkoff, the special envoy for the Middle East appointed by US President Donald Trump, has arrived in Moscow to discuss a proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. His plane landed at Vnukovo airport on Thursday morning, following recent talks between the US and Ukraine in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Ukraine agreed to the ceasefire proposal. The White House, through spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, has urged Russia to accept the plan, stating it is the closest opportunity for peace in the war. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz also held discussions with his Russian counterpart ahead of Witkoff's visit. Witkoff's arrival in Moscow comes amid diplomatic efforts to end Russia's three-year invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin has yet to comment on its stance regarding the ceasefire proposal, but the US delegation, led by Witkoff, is poised to negotiate directly with Russian officials.
