Former President Donald Trump has launched a joint fundraising committee with the Republican National Committee (RNC), named the Trump 47 Committee, aimed at raising significant funds for his campaign, the RNC, and state GOP parties. The initiative allows for contributions up to $814,600 per individual, with a detailed disbursement strategy that prioritizes Trump's campaign and the Save America political action committee (PAC), which is often utilized to cover Trump's legal expenses, before allocating funds to the RNC and state parties. Chairs of the April 6 fundraiser are required to contribute $814,600 each, with $5,000 going to the leadership PAC, $6,600 to the campaign, and the remaining $803,000 to the RNC. Hosts are expected to pay $250,000 each, following the same split, resulting in $238,400 for the RNC. Despite the RNC's previous statements of not paying Trump's legal bills, the Save America PAC, which recently received a $5.6 million boost from the Save America PAC, has spent more than it received, paying out $7.2 million while taking in $5 million, and MAGA Inc. has contributed over $50 million to assist with Trump's legal fees. The PAC had $4 million on hand at the end of last month and owes just over half a million dollars in new legal fees. Out of an individual donor’s maximum contribution of $824,600, less than 1% (.006%) goes to Save America.
