On February 13, the day 20 people on her communications team were laid off, Pinover posted a video. Her actions have been criticized by former OPM staff and ethics watchdogs, who argue that her behavior undermines the public trust, especially as she defends the administration's efforts to cut federal jobs. Pinover deleted her Instagram account after the issue was raised by CNN.
