U.S. President Donald Trump has branched further into consumer goods, announcing a new range of perfumes and colognes under the banner “Trump Fragrances” late on 30 June. The flagship scent, “Victory 45-47,” references his non-consecutive presidencies and appears alongside a re-issued “Fight, Fight, Fight” line first introduced last year.
The limited-edition bottles retail for $249 each for 100 millilitres, with a website promotion cutting the price by $100 when two are purchased. Packaged in boxes of black (for men) or red (for women), the glass flacons are topped with a gold-coloured statuette of Trump and marketed as embodying “winning, strength and success.” A disclaimer says the products are produced under licence by 45Footwear LLC rather than by Trump or the Trump Organization.
The scents join a growing roster of Trump-branded merchandise—including a $499 smartphone, gold sneakers, a cryptocurrency and a “God Bless the USA” Bible—that continues to generate licensing revenue for the president while he is in office. Trump has said his business interests are held in a trust overseen by his children, though income ultimately flows back to him.
Democratic lawmakers renewed conflict-of-interest complaints after the launch. Senator Mark Warner accused the president of “grifting and graft in plain sight,” while Senator Peter Welch contrasted the perfume promotion with Republican efforts to reduce Medicare benefits in the pending budget bill. The White House declined to comment on the criticism.
President Donald Trump wants to conquer the senses of his followers with the launch of a new line of perfumes. The release includes a perfume and a cologne whose design incorporates a miniature sculpture of the businessman as well.
