In recent initiatives across Texas and Indiana, federal and state officials have taken significant steps to bolster education and workforce development. Representative Mrvan met with Chancellor Rodriguez at the Ivy Tech Lake County campus to discuss the 'To the Finish Line' initiative, proudly announcing the delivery of federal funding for FY22. In Texas, Governor Abbott directed the Texas Higher Education Board to create a task force to address healthcare workforce shortages and announced over $2.1 million in career training grants to seven Gulf Coast schools. Additionally, more than 4.2 million Texans participated in workforce development in 2022, and Texas has been recognized for leading the nation in job additions over the last year. Representative Monica DLC also secured funds for the UTRGV Workforce Economy Research and Community Complex to expand employment training opportunities in her region.
