Serbian Students Block RTS and RTV for 22 Hours, Clashes Injure Police Amid Vucic's Warning

Hundreds of student protesters in Serbia have blocked the offices of the national broadcaster, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) in Belgrade and Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) in Novi Sad, amid ongoing anti-government demonstrations. The blockade, which began overnight, is set to last at least 22 hours, with protesters preventing employees from entering the buildings but allowing exits. The protests stem from the collapse of a train station roof in Novi Sad in November, which resulted in 15 deaths. The students accuse the state broadcaster of biased reporting in favor of President Aleksandar Vucic's government, particularly after a journalist referred to the protesters as a 'mob' during a news segment. Clashes between protesters and police led to at least one police officer being injured. President Vucic visited the injured officer in the hospital and has warned of potential violence at a large rally planned for March 15, describing the protests as a 'colored revolution' orchestrated by foreign agents. The Serbian government has stated it will not intervene against the protesters unless there is a violent invasion of public institutions.
