Russian casualties have reached record highs in May, according to reports from Kyiv. Ukraine reported the highest daily number of Russian losses since the invasion began in February 2022. Specifically, on June 2, 2024, the Ukrainian general staff reported Russian losses of 1,080 soldiers, 25 tanks, 33 armored personnel vehicles (APVs), 49 artillery systems, 1 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), 6 air defense systems, 82 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and 38 cruise missiles. Over a 48-hour period, Russia lost nearly 250 vehicles and 96 artillery systems. In the deadliest 24 hours of the war, Russia lost 1,270 troops. These significant losses are attributed to a poorly executed re-invasion of the Kharkiv Oblast and the substantial military aid provided to Ukraine by the United States, which amounted to $60 billion in April.

The month of May was the deadliest month of the war for Russian forces so far. This is partly because of their idiotic and poorly executed re-invasion of the Kharkiv Oblast, but this is also because the United States passed $60 billion in military aid for Ukraine in April.β¦ https://t.co/cheUYdXAqX
