A group of Republican lawmakers have voiced opposition to President Biden's proposal to mandate electric vehicles (EVs), arguing that it is impractical and unaffordable for most Americans. Senators Tom Cotton, Mitt Romney, and John Thune, as well as Representative Ashley Hinson and Senator Ted Cruz, criticized the administration's move as a radical climate agenda that disregards the needs and choices of everyday Americans. They assert that the mandate would phase out gas-powered vehicles, forcing consumers to buy EVs that may not fit their needs or budget and could increase the average price of cars significantly.
EVs are not a practical option for most Americans, yet the Biden administration issued an out-of-touch de facto EV mandate. This Green New Deal mandate will limit consumer choices and increase the average price of cars by thousands of dollars. https://t.co/8C3JXY9H8O
Electric Vehicles aren’t surviving winter, but Joe Biden still wants to force Americans to buy them. Out of touch. I’m fighting to protect consumer choice & stop Biden’s electric vehicle mandates. https://t.co/uqegpi5efF
The Biden administration's de facto EV mandate is another attempt to force its unrealistic environmental agenda onto Americans and dictate what vehicles they can and cannot drive. It must be withdrawn. https://t.co/T6y8yp3pzu
President Biden’s proposed EV mandate would effectively phase out gas-powered vehicles. Americans should be able to choose the car that best fits their needs and budget, rather than having the government dictate what they can or cannot drive. https://t.co/0gdq0JG8XL
Most people don’t want and can’t afford electric vehicles. Joe Biden continues to put his radical climate agenda above the needs of everyday Americans. https://t.co/oWxK20WylW
Try as they might, the Biden administration can’t force Americans to buy electric vehicles. As manufacturers cut their electric lines due to the lack of demand, President Biden should listen to Americans and stop pushing a technology that most people don’t want.
