The incident was highlighted by Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.), who posted photos of Crockett boarding the flight with a police escort and staff member.

Crockett was reportedly the first passenger, other than crew, to board the flight, ahead of disabled passengers who, according to Department of Transportation rules, are typically allowed to pre-board. The use of a taxpayer-funded police escort was also criticized.

Crockett's office declined to comment on the incident. Delta Air Lines did not respond to requests for comment.
