A recent poll by The Washington Post-Schar School reveals that two years after the Washington NFL team rebranded as the Commanders, the new name remains unpopular among fans. The study, published Wednesday, found that 58% of Commanders fans dislike or hate the name, and only 16% believe the team should keep it. The poll, conducted in April, also indicated that more D.C. sports fans identify as fans of the Nationals (59%) and the Capitals (50%) than the Commanders (45%). Additionally, when asked about a potential future name, 16% of respondents still prefer the old name 'Redskins', tying it with 'Commanders' and 'Washington Football Team' as top choices. Despite the backlash, Commanders owner Majorie Harris stated that she is comfortable with the current name, saying, 'Sounds pretty good to me. So, for now, it's the Commanders.'
