Pakistan Downs 5 Indian Jets Including Rafale, Su-30, MiG-29, and Drone; 8 Civilians Killed, 35 Injured

Pakistan claims to have shot down five Indian fighter jets and a drone using Chinese-made J-10C aircraft, according to Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The incident occurred during a military encounter with India, where Pakistan alleges it downed three Rafale, one Su-30, and one MiG-29 jets. The drone was also reportedly shot down by Pakistan.

The Pakistani military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed the downing of the Indian aircraft, stating that they were targeted while attempting to strike Pakistan from Indian airspace. This action was in response to Indian missile attacks on six locations in Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of eight civilians and injuries to 35 others.

Following the incident, shares of Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, the manufacturer of the J-10C jets, surged by up to 20%. The stock rally was attributed to the reported success of the Pakistani Air Force in using these jets against Indian aircraft. Pakistan encountered 75-80 Indian jets during the conflict, and the U.S. has confirmed that Pakistan's Chinese-made J-10 aircraft were responsible for downing at least two Indian jets. Additionally, the Chinese Ambassador was present at the Foreign Office at 4 a.m. for a meeting regarding the situation.
