Queens Blvd, once known as the 'Boulevard of Death,' has become much safer due to better street design and temporary improvements. The NYC Department of Transportation has received a $29M grant to make these improvements permanent, resulting in a reduction in deaths and serious injuries from Roosevelt Ave to 73rd St. The federal government has invested nearly $30 million to ensure safety for all New Yorkers on Queens Boulevard. In addition, the Bronx will benefit from a $50M grant for environmental justice projects at Fordham University and a $150M federal fund for the redevelopment of the Cross Bronx Expressway Community Connector Road, which will include bus lanes and pathways for cyclists and pedestrians.
Great news: Maryland's Green and Healthy Homes Initiative will receive $50M through @EPA's Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmakers program to help communities that bear the burden of environmental harm & pollution better access critical federal resources. https://t.co/y7Bhpr6U9j
With the Inflation Reduction Act, we've empowered @EPA to tear down barriers so all communities have a chance to access grant funding to reduce home energy costs and breathe cleaner air. Glad to see Baltimore’s @HealthyHousing Initiative selected as a partner in this effort! https://t.co/IpFbV7zi3N
