Nearly 1 million people in New York City are on the verge of losing affordable internet access through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which is set to expire on Friday. The program, which has helped over 23 million households across the United States save $30-75 each month on internet bills, is at risk due to a lack of funding from House Republicans. The expiration of the ACP will impact millions of Americans, including students, job seekers, and those relying on telehealth services. Various representatives have called for bipartisan action to renew the program and prevent a digital divide. The ACP was part of President Biden's efforts to lower everyday costs and expand internet access, particularly benefiting low-income families and rural areas. Additionally, 80,000 families in North Carolina's 6th district, 1.7 million households in New York City, and 12,000 households in North Jersey are among those affected. In NW Ohio, 74,000 households will be impacted by the expiration of the program.
Democrats cut internet bills by up to $75/month through @POTUS's Affordable Connectivity Program. By failing to fund the ACP, Republicans are raising internet costs for more than 120,000 households in WI-04. The GOP needs to work with Democrats to save this critical program.

Republicans must join Democrats to save the Affordable Connectivity Program. As of January 2024, the ACP has provided essential connectivity to 67,000 households in the #FightingFifth. Families are at risk of losing broadband access, and we can’t let that happen. https://t.co/82lZDx0hz4
In AZ District 7, more than 103K households depend on the ACP. The Republican-led House failed to fund ACP & now households in my district will see higher internet costs, with rural & Tribal Nations paying the highest increases. This is unacceptable - an extension is needed now!
