West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee expressed skepticism about the Congress party's prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, doubting they would win even 40 seats. Banerjee mentioned that there had been no conversation with the Congress after she offered them two seats, which they declined, wanting to contest all 42 seats instead. Echoing Banerjee's sentiment, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain (@ShahnawazBJP) and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey (@nishikant_dubey) also commented on the issue. Hussain remarked that Congress is likely to perform poorly, contesting on 400 seats but failing to secure even 40. Dubey went further, suggesting that Congress might not win more than 10 seats, attributing Banerjee's higher estimate to her emotional connection with the party.
