Lawmakers and unions are protesting Boeing's decision to lock out 125 firefighters in an attempt to force them into accepting a substandard contract. The lockout, which began on May 13, has raised concerns about safety and the treatment of workers. Senator John Fetterman and Governor Jay Inslee have voiced their disapproval, emphasizing the need for Boeing to respect organized labor and ensure dignified wages for critical safety workers. The AFL-CIO and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) have also rallied in support of the firefighters, urging Boeing to return to the bargaining table.
The @transportworker plays a crucial role in moving the American economy forward and keeping the public safe. It was good to reconnect with members and leadership from TWU while they were in DC for legislative meetings focused on railroad safety and transit operating assistance. https://t.co/Dld3OLNbww
Always great to engage with hardworking members from @TWU and @TWULocal2054 who do the essential work to keep our country running. On behalf of Rhode Island’s commuters who rely on the @MBTA, thank you for your service and dedication! https://t.co/NLaxIIZMJX
‼️BIG NEWS‼️ @ChrisVanHollen and I know that transit agencies across PA, MD, and the country need federal dollars to add new routes, increase service, and improve safety on board. We introduced the Moving Transit Forward Act to help do this.👇 https://t.co/r3TCPVu5k2
Millions of Americans rely on public transit to get to work, school, the grocery store and more. This bill will help ensure transit agencies and workers have the resources they need to provide safe, reliable and consistent service to help keep our country moving!🚆 https://t.co/gd4dO1BpI0
The Senate introduced a bill backed by @TransportWorker that would establish a new program in the FTA to support transit operations - a critical step for agencies seeking to improve and expand service even with budget shortfalls. https://t.co/G3pV4GZc8b

Boeing knows it needs a better culture of safety, and they can start by having more respect for organized labor. I’m concerned to see them lock out the best firefighters they have simply because they want a fair contract. Boeing should let them work while they negotiate.
Everyone deserves good pay, benefits, and a safe workplace. More than 100,000 flight attendants have been in contract negotiations for years!. That's why I sent a letter to NMB -- we must solve these labor disputes quickly. #UnionStrong💪 @Reuters: https://t.co/25AJZa7EuH https://t.co/WGLleeSQnU
Had a productive meeting with members of @transportworker union from across New York State today! I'm working hard to fight for safer working conditions and increased federal funding for our transportation workers — they keep our country moving! https://t.co/5xaQh3A0fr
I was at Boeing HQ with my brothers and sisters in the labor movement to stand in solidarity with @BoeingFFs in their fight for fair wages. It’s time for Boeing to end the lock out and come back to the bargaining table. #UnionProud #Boeinglockout https://t.co/Pi7E2R3QCr

I share @POTUS’ concern over reported lockouts that work against the union way of life. Boeing should focus on keeping critical safety workers and paying dignified wages, particularly given their recent safety and quality control issues where these safety workers may be needed. https://t.co/5QbMT3WGla
