Recent proposals by Washington bureaucrats to relocate mail processing operations in various states have sparked concerns among lawmakers. Senators and Representatives from Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, and Virginia have expressed worries about potential delays and service issues if the plans go through. While some, like Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, have successfully intervened to maintain operations in Buffalo, others continue to work to prevent similar shifts in their regions.
Good news, Buffalo! After @SenSchumer and I reached out to the USPS, they’ve decided to keep mail processing operations at the Buffalo Processing and Distribution Center, keeping those jobs in the local workforce and ensuring Western New Yorkers will get their mail on time!
My statement on the good news that USPS will not move forward with the proposed move of the Buffalo Mail Processing Facility’s operations to Rochester: https://t.co/nTWh58AdiK
Virginians should be able to depend on the @USPS. But right now, my office continues to hear stories of mail service and delivery issues across the Commonwealth. I’m working to get to the bottom of these delays. https://t.co/KaeVNtW2Zu
Americans across the country are sick and tired of poor mail service. I'm working with my Illinois colleagues to ensure we improve mail delivery, not worsen it. https://t.co/26ycVEeFu4
🚨 NEW: The USPS’s proposal to shift mail processing from Grand Junction to Denver could result in even more mail delivery delays for communities across the Western Slope. Read my letter to Postmaster General DeJoy below👇🏾 https://t.co/uHxh26XEKI
Washington bureaucrats are proposing an ill-advised plan to move the processing of Nevadans’ mail from Reno to Sacramento despite its impact on our local communities. I’m not going to let this happen – I’ll keep working across party lines to stop this @USPS proposal. https://t.co/dl1zhEfsR0
