İmamoğlu, CHP Presidential Candidate, Calls for April 16 Justice Gathering in Beylikdüzü with Özgür Özel

Ekrem İmamoğlu, the imprisoned mayor of Istanbul and CHP's presidential candidate, currently held in Silivri, has called for participation in a gathering at Beylikdüzü Yaşam Vadisi on April 16, emphasizing justice as a central theme. In his message, he stated, "Biz adalete susamış Türk gençliğiyiz," and urged citizens to defend the national will at the event, which will also be attended by CHP leader Özgür Özel. In an op-ed published by the Financial Times, İmamoğlu argued that the global wave of democratic backsliding may have begun in Turkey and expressed his belief that resistance to this trend will also start there. İmamoğlu has also addressed the recent agricultural crisis caused by severe frost, urging the government and relevant institutions to mobilize resources for affected farmers. He highlighted the challenges facing low-income citizens in both rural and urban areas and called for urgent measures to support agricultural production.
