Lily Ebert, a Hungarian Jewish woman and an Auschwitz survivor, celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her large family. Born on December 29, 1923, in Bonyhád, Hungary, Ebert was deported to Auschwitz in July 1944 and later transferred to an ammunition factory near Leipzig, where she was eventually liberated. Her story of survival and resilience has been an inspiration, as she has actively worked to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive. Her great-grandson, Dov Forman, called for public support to make her milestone birthday extra special. Tributes poured in from various individuals, including UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Home Secretary Priti Patel, and King Charles, who all acknowledged Ebert's contribution to Holocaust remembrance. The Auschwitz Museum also commemorated her centenary, noting that she now has 10 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
