Congress advanced President Donald Trump’s sweeping budget and tax package, nicknamed the “Big Ugly Bill,” after the House of Representatives approved the measure on 3 July, two days after it cleared the Senate. The legislation now heads to the White House for the president’s signature.

The bill delivers deep spending reductions to social safety-net programs while extending significant tax breaks for high-income individuals and corporations.
