House Oversight Secures Ron Klain Testimony in Biden Cognition Probe

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee has secured voluntary interviews from several former senior aides to Joe Biden, including ex-White House chief of staff Ron Klain, as part of its investigation into the former president’s mental acuity while in office.

Committee staff said Klain and other unnamed advisers are scheduled to appear for transcribed interviews in the coming weeks. Lawmakers are examining whether Biden’s cognitive fitness declined during his term and whether aides attempted to conceal the extent of any impairment or sign official documents on his behalf using an autopen.

The inquiry is the latest in a series of GOP-driven oversight efforts targeting the former Democratic president. Aides close to the investigation said the panel intends to determine whether any executive actions or decisions were carried out without Biden’s direct involvement.
