The World Health Organization (WHO) faces challenges with its proposed Pandemic Treaty as member states express concerns over the rushed approval process. Key concessions have been made, but issues remain with the draft agreement, leading to divisions among member states.
CHM @RepMcCaul: "I am very alarmed that member states still plan to adopt the @WHO Pandemic Treaty later this month even though negotiations have repeatedly missed critical deadlines, including finalizing a draft agreement on May 10.
DoH on WHO treaty: "The current text is not acceptable to us, therefore unless the current text is changed and refined we will not be signing up." Not clear what changes they seek.. some minor tweak of how many vaccines we have to give away? Or comprehensive overhaul of terms.

The WHO continues to breach its own article 55 para 2, by not giving all member states 4 months notice of amendments. The WHO still intends to vote on approval of the (still to be finalised) draft Treaty on the 27th May. https://t.co/T2gH2BSyQ8
