The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has mandated inspections for loose bolts in the rudder control systems of Boeing 737 MAX 9 airplanes after an Alaska Airlines flight experienced a catastrophic door plug malfunction over Oregon last month. The incident led to a lawsuit filed on January 16 by attorney Mark Lindquist alleging severe stress, anxiety, trauma, and hearing damage among passengers. The FAA's oversight process is expected to take six weeks. A previous flight of the same aircraft reportedly had a 'whistling sound' near the door plug.
