Denmark to Send Unarmed Soldiers to Western Ukraine for Drone Warfare Training, Russia Warns

The Danish Armed Forces are planning to send unarmed soldiers to Ukraine for training courses, focusing on learning from the Ukrainian military's experience in drone warfare, gained over three years of war. This initiative was announced by Major General Peter Boysen, the Commander of the Danish Ground Forces, in an interview with Danish TV channel TV 2. The soldiers, drawn from various regiments, will be stationed far from the front lines, likely in training centers located in western Ukraine, such as Lviv. The training, which will include learning combat techniques, is expected to begin as early as this summer, with sessions lasting one to two weeks. Boysen, with 42 years of service, emphasized that the soldiers are going to Ukraine at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart. Russia has expressed concerns over this move, with the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen warning that it could draw Denmark deeper into the conflict and provoke further escalation. Russian Ambassador Vladimir Barbin stated that all military facilities in Ukraine, including training centers, are considered legitimate targets by the Russian military.
