A new investigation revealed that only 17% of hospitals were in compliance with a law requiring maternity care staff to complete racism in medicine training. The California Department of Justice has also found that racial bias among healthcare workers is impacting the mortality rate of pregnant black women, which is significantly higher than any other racial group.
