Baltimore and surrounding areas are under a Snow Storm Warning, with local authorities advising residents to avoid driving due to hazardous conditions. The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BmoreCityDOT) has urged those who must travel to 'Take It Slow on ice and snow,' give space to other drivers and plows, and ensure their vehicles are clear of snow. Mayor Bernard C. 'Jack' Scott has stated that the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is monitoring the storm and that snow teams are out in full force. The Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MDMEMA) echoed safety sentiments, and the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC_DOT) thanked their bridges team for applying non-corrosive, anti-ice treatment to the East River bridges and the BQE. MassDOTSafety warned against the risky behavior of passing snowplows, especially on the right, for everyone's safety.
Fortunate to have the @BmoreCityDOT Snow Team working overnight to ensure that our roads remain safe for travel. Remember to call 311 to report downed trees and snowy or icy conditions. Great work, @BmoreCityDOT! Stay safe, Baltimore. https://t.co/RrfMNpgPI5
Light #snow for some this PM. You'll see crews out there treating the roads!❄️ Remember, passing a snowplow is a risky behavior. Besides their large blind spots, salt may spray your vehicle affecting visibility. Never pass plows on the right, for everyone’s safety! https://t.co/SiEX80oqAN https://t.co/cweN4Tc6px
