As the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marks its 14th anniversary, it continues to be a cornerstone of health care in the United States, protecting millions with pre-existing conditions and expanding access to health insurance. Since its inception, the ACA has significantly increased the number of Americans with health care coverage, with over 40 million people now insured through the ACA, and 4 out of 5 people in a Marketplace plan paying less than $10 a month. Specifically, 21.3 million Americans are now covered under the ACA, highlighting its importance in healthcare access. The ACA's impact extends to veterans and union members, ensuring those with pre-existing conditions can get health care and young people can stay on their parents' insurance. Despite attempts by some to dismantle the ACA, Democrats have defended and expanded the legislation, with investments from the Inflation Reduction Act and American Rescue Plan further reducing healthcare costs. The uninsured rate in the nation is at historic lows, yet efforts continue to expand coverage and lower costs further, as evidenced by the reintroduction of the State Public Option Act, aimed at providing a high-quality, low-cost public health insurance option.
Because of the ACA, over 40 million Americans have health care today. But even with its success, we need to do more to get everyone covered. That’s why today I reintroduced the State Public Option Act—which will give people a high-quality, low-cost public health insurance option https://t.co/Se7EerBEyi
After dozens of Republican attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the ACA continues to grow in popularity. Why? Because people actually like having health care. We’re working to expand coverage and lower costs. —@SenBrianSchatz https://t.co/dobTQECksF
14 years ago we marched with John Lewis to gavel in health care. Thanks to relentless advocates and patients with cancer, chronic conditions, disabilities, and reproductive care needs, Democrats passed, protected and expanded the Affordable Care Act — and we’ll save it again! -NP https://t.co/k8JuQRZxfY

When Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act, we made a promise to the American people – that they would have affordable, accessible health care. We have kept that promise, and we’re not stopping. https://t.co/TnFTZfLbio
For 14 years, @HouseDemocrats have built upon the Affordable Care Act to expand access and lower healthcare costs For The People. Thanks to investments from @POTUS’ Inflation Reduction Act and American Rescue Plan, 4 in 5 Americans can now find a plan for $10 or less per month. https://t.co/8Hx2iNc92L
Today, the nation’s uninsured rate is at historic lows – but there’s more work to do. Health care is a basic right, not a privilege. While extremist lawmakers are trying to take away this access, we will ALWAYS fight alongside @POTUS to protect & expand the ACA. #ACA14 https://t.co/uWUPbUdU4C

Do you know someone who has been protected by the Affordable Care Act? This Sat., March 23, is the 14th anniversary of the ACA. Since then, millions of people with pre-existing conditions have been protected from insurance companies that would have refused to insure them. (1/2) https://t.co/OqGQDg9m5i
More people have health care right now than any other point in American HISTORY! That’s a good thing, and it’s because of the Affordable Care Act. Now let’s keep BUILDING!! While repubs want to gut protections for preexisting conditions, we’re here to say #ACAHereToStay ‼️
The #ACAHereToStay we won’t go back! https://t.co/Na7JUXASIv
Millions of Veterans rely on the ACA. Since 2016 Trump has said that he wants to demolish our entire healthcare system with absolutely no plans on how he would replace it. Republicans have NO plans, democrats are protecting our care. #ACAHereToStay https://t.co/guZFjLlIlM
