5.3-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Texas, Chemical Factory Explosion Causes Injury, Power Outage

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck western Texas, causing one injury and leaving 400 without power after an explosion at a chemical factory. The earthquake is the state's second-biggest ever. In a separate incident, a 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit Eastern Papua New Guinea, and the Dominican Republic experienced a preliminary 5.9-magnitude earthquake, later revised to 5.3 by the EMSC.
