Over the past weekend, more than 50 families were enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program, which offers up to $30 off internet bills, as detailed on the FCC website. This initiative is part of a broader effort by U.S. lawmakers to strengthen internet access and agricultural policies across various regions including IA04, Mississippi, and East Tennessee. In Sioux City, a rural electric cooperative legislative roundtable focused on the power needs of IA04 homes and businesses and the importance of a robust Farm Bill for American energy security. Discussions on the Farm Bill also occurred in Schenectady County's Capital Region and with NH farmers & producers, highlighting its role in supporting farmers and ranchers, with an emphasis on connecting them with USDA resources. Efforts to improve broadband access in rural areas include the introduction of the 5G Upgrade Act and the passing of the 5G SALE Act, which aims to close the digital divide. The Affordable Connectivity Program has already helped 22 million households save on internet costs this year, and there is a push to extend its funding to ensure continued support for communities including Wisconsinites.
My 5G SALE Act will provide crucial broadband access by giving the FCC the authority to finish transferring spectrum. Pres. Biden signed my bill into law so now more Americans will have the tools they need to do their jobs and grow their businesses. https://t.co/m3rE8lZDQA
Thanks to the Affordable Connectivity Program, 22 million households saved up to $900 on internet bills this year. It’s important that we extend funding for this critical program.
I sat down with NH farmers & producers to discuss how extreme weather impacted their operations & connect them with @USDA resources. Thank you, @DepSecXoch, for joining this key conversation. Our farmers are the backbone of our economy & food system—I'll always fight for them. https://t.co/zYLGdOx11B
Farmers & ranchers are the backbone of Texas' economy. Their work keeps our state—& our nation—strong! Enjoyed meeting with @TexasFarmBureau to discuss how Congress can assist them by reauthorizing a strong farm bill, bolstering disaster responses, securing our border, & more. https://t.co/ciaXeiU0hm
As a representative of one of the country’s most rural districts, expanding access to broadband has been a top priority of mine. That's why I introduced the 5G Upgrade Act, which will close the digital divide and keep rural communities, like ours in East Tennessee connected!
The Affordable Connectivity Program I helped pass is helping bring high-speed internet access to our community—an important resource for connecting families with teachers, doctors, job opportunities, and more. See if you and your family qualify: https://t.co/8sbXn8Do8L
Great to join the Schenectady County Food Council last night to discuss the importance of a strong Farm Bill that strengthens programs that alleviate hunger in our Capital Region communities and beyond. https://t.co/utyW3OOZFp
High-speed internet is a necessity for Wisconsinites to run their businesses, attend school, and connect with loved ones. I’m proud to bring home funding that will help ensure reliable broadband is no longer a luxury for our families and businesses. https://t.co/xMDN8Jp2tD
It was great to talk Ag issues with @agripulse's Jeff Nalley! When it comes to the #FarmBill and any other Ag policies, I will continue to stand firm on protecting farmers and ranchers in Mississippi and across America. Give it a listen 🔊 https://t.co/hAehr6bd0w

This morning, I attended a rural electric cooperative legislative roundtable in Sioux City. RECs power #IA04 homes and businesses and invest in our rural communities. I’m working to pass a strong Farm Bill that supports American energy security, reliability, and affordability. https://t.co/8PwUncFvRh
