Earlier this week, Thomas J. Loewke, a 52-year-old New York State Trooper from Rochester, was convicted for his involvement with a $10 million gambling ring. He received a sentence of two years probation, 100 hours of community service, and was ordered to pay a $4,000 fine. In a separate incident, George Janssen, a four-time WSOP Circuit ring winner, was found on the side of a road in Bad Axe, Michigan, with his hands zip-tied. Janssen claimed to have escaped from an extortion gang that allegedly held him captive in a basement for over a month as part of a two-year extortion scheme. The FBI is investigating Janssen's abduction.
