Notable seismic activity occurred in the Philippines, Indonesia, the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Alaska, California, Texas, and the South Indian Ocean. The strongest earthquake was a magnitude 5.9 event near Malisbeng, Soccsksargen, Philippines, followed by several other significant tremors in the same region, including magnitudes of 5.3 and 5.2. Indonesia experienced a magnitude 5.5 earthquake in the West Papua region and a 5.4 magnitude quake near Fakfak. The Mid-Atlantic Ridge saw quakes up to magnitude 5.1. Other regions with notable activity included Vanuatu with a 5.1 magnitude quake, Tonga with a 5.3 magnitude event near Hihifo, and the British Indian Ocean Territory with a magnitude 5.0 earthquake. Numerous smaller earthquakes were reported across the United States, particularly in Alaska, California, Texas, Nevada, and Puerto Rico, mostly ranging from 1.5 to 3.9 in magnitude. Additional tremors were detected in Japan, Papua New Guinea, Tajikistan, Nepal, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Fiji, and the British Virgin Islands. These events reflect ongoing global seismic activity across various tectonic zones.
