PennDOT has announced the reopening of the center section of I-95 and the Cottman Avenue northbound off-ramp following an 11-month reconstruction effort. This comes less than a year after a deadly fire caused a collapse on the interstate. Federal and local officials held a celebratory news conference to mark the full restoration of all eight permanent lanes at the Cottman Avenue Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia. The reopening includes four southbound lanes, as confirmed by PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll. Lane restrictions will be in place during overnight hours tonight and tomorrow.
