The Washington Commanders have signed kicker Ramiz Ahmed, as confirmed by multiple sources. Ahmed, a Nevada football alum who was recently released by the USFL's Birmingham Stallions, has previously spent time with the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. Although he has not attempted a field goal or extra point in the NFL, Ahmed holds the record for the longest field goal in USFL history at 61 yards. The Commanders may still consider signing another kicker for competition or other reasons.

It's very possible the Commanders sign another kicker for competition or other reasons. Ahmed was released by the UFL's Birmingham Stallions, so he was available to sign now. The NFL cannot contact players on UFL playoff teams until their seasons end. https://t.co/3q77eX0XCf
