Seattle Seahawks' wide receiver DK Metcalf's interest in American Sign Language (ASL) began in college and has continued into his NFL career. Metcalf has been taking ASL classes to help bring awareness to it and occasionally uses sign language for celebrations and trash talk. He recently met his ASL teacher, Darrell Utley, for the first time, which was heartwarming and awesome. The slogan 'Talk To Me' used by the Miami Dolphins originated with Jaylen Waddle, and Tua Tagovailoa borrowed it from Waddle. Waddle uses it for everything, and changing how he says it alters its meaning. Learning ASL has been a positive experience for DK Metcalf and others, as it exercises the mind and brings awareness to the language.
DK Metcalf meeting his ASL teacher for the first time is just what we need this holiday season 👏 (🎥: @Seahawks) https://t.co/NsLDsyKKwq

Two things DK and I have in common: 1) our physiques 💪 2) We've both studied ASL with Zoom classes from https://t.co/NzDmr0oJ1A! Learning ASL is a ton of fun and it's a great experience. Give it a shot! https://t.co/KMrgcc3d2J

So, I’ve been digging into the “Talk To Me,” slogan the #Dolphins have been using, which began with Jaylen Waddle. Tua admits he borrowed it from Waddle, and Waddle uses it for everything. The way he changes how he says it changes it’s meaning. https://t.co/01BJ5crqKw
"I always try to exercise my mind or try to learn something new." @dkm14's sign language celebration wasn't something he spontaneously learned. His interest in ASL started in college and has continued on in his NFL career. 👏 https://t.co/M5OUG36hRI
