Penn State football coach James Franklin made a significant effort to support his players, Olu Fashanu and Chop Robinson, during the NFL draft. Both players, who were drafted in the first round, hosted draft parties in Maryland. Franklin first visited Fashanu's house and then traveled approximately 57 miles to attend Robinson's draft party, arriving just before Robinson was drafted. This marked the first time since 2003 that two Penn State players were drafted in the first round.
