The Carolina Panthers' defense has been causing a lot of 3-and-outs in their recent games, and they continued the trend against the Houston Texans. Derrick Brown and DeShawn Williams both batted down passes on third downs, forcing punts. However, the Texans managed to have one successful series, resulting in a 92-yard touchdown drive. The Panthers' offense struggled at the goal line, failing to score any points. CJ Stroud, the Texans' quarterback, had a strong play where he threw a 22-yard pass to Noah Brown. Stroud later scored a touchdown on a QB sneak, giving the Texans a 13-12 lead after a failed two-point conversion.

Great play by Stroud and Brown. Stroud was forced out of the pocket, rolled left and threw to his left to Noah Brown, who caught a tipped pass for a 31-yard gain to Carolina 18. Tremendous play.
The Texans offense was miserable in the first half except for one series, a 92-yard TD drive. Other than that, they had 11 yards. That's not a typo -- yes, 11 stinking yards. Texans defense gave up one TD and allowed only 131 yards.
Texans offense getting pounded by the Panthers. That may have been their worst series this season. Stroud sacked for 11-yard loss. Pierce runs for 2. Stroud dumps it off to Schultz for a 3-yard loss. Just a rotten possession by the Texans, who have struggled except for 1 series.
Very unimpressive execution for the Panthers at the goal line under new play-caller Thomas Brown: 3 unimaginative runs by Chuba Hubbard get nothing, then a 4th-and-goal from the 2 when Young tries to fit it into Thielen and it's incomplete. Zero points; Houston still leads 7-0.
What a third down pass from Stroud to Noah Brown for a 22-yard gain to the 2.

Houston came into the game near the bottom of the league in sacks. And of course they get one on the Panthers' first snap under new play caller Thomas Brown.
Derrick Brown stuffs Stroud's first pass attempt at the line. The Panthers defense has caused a ton of 3-and-outs to open games. Atlanta, Miami, now Houston at least.
