The New York Giants have re-signed Isaiah Simmons, addressing a significant defensive need at the right price. Initially, there were doubts about Simmons' fit in the Giants' defensive system under former coordinator Wink Martindale, where he played exclusively as an inside linebacker who blitzed. However, with Shane Bowen now coordinating the defense, speculation arises about Simmons being given another chance, possibly at safety, with a full offseason here to adapt. Simmons, who was traded from Arizona, is well-regarded within the Giants' locker room, suggesting his return could be a strategic move to bolster the team's defense. Analysts and fans are optimistic about Simmons' potential impact under Bowen's scheme, highlighting his versatility and the possibility of seeing more multi-safety looks.

I for one am (maybe irrationally?) excited about the #Giants re-signing Isaiah Simmons 1. Think he could fit this Bowen scheme WAY better than Wink's (more snaps?) 2. Possibility as a wide 9 rusher at times? 3. Going to see more multi-safety looks & he's done it before with AZ
Could just be a matter of, #NYGiants need as many good football players as they can get at the right price and they liked Isaiah Simmons, who seemed to get along well in this locker room. Bring him back + see where he fits.
I know that #NYGiants did not believe Isaiah Simmons fit as a safety in Wink Martindale's system when they traded for him from Arizona. Wonder if they give Simmons another chance at safety in Shane Bowen's system with full offseason here. He played exclusively at ILB who blitzed…
Some have been calling for this, and I'm a bit surprised because I wondered about the fit, but ... #NYGiants have agreed to terms with Isaiah Simmons on his return to East Rutherford.
