Former Washington Commanders safety Kamren Curl has agreed to a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams, valued at up to $13 million. This move marks a significant step in Curl's career, who, at 24 years old, has shown promise as a rising star in the NFL. The 2020 seventh-round pick is set to bring his talents to a Rams defense under the guidance of Chris Shula. Despite the high expectations set by his performance and the discussions around his market value, the deal averages less than $7 million per year, reflecting a subdued safety market. Curl's versatility, capable of playing various roles such as strong safety, big nickel, and dime linebacker, is highlighted as a key asset for the Rams.
Iโm a big Kam Curl guy, to be clear. Terrific player. Huge win and great story as a former 7th-round pick. But you wouldโve thought he was a candidate to be tagged or break the bank the way he was talked about in DC. In the end, heโll get sub $7M a year in a down S market.

Kam Curl will make under $7M per year. He couldnโt have hit the S market at a worse time. Even still, another example of local over-valuing of what a guy is from a national perspective. https://t.co/0i035Q9sSc

Absolute STEAL from the Rams. Curl is such a good player that can wear so many hats. Can play SS, big nickel, dime LB. Can play him as part of 2-deep coverages, can match TEs, overhang or in the box. Fits the run so well too. Brings a lot to a defense https://t.co/WrY5pbpr7b

Very curious about the Kam Curl/safety markets. If Curl's AAV is $10-12M, I'm not sure Washington goes that hard. Safety class runs deep. Several options at the different price points. Justin Simmons, Jeremy Chinn, Alohi Gilman, Geno Stone, etc. Also true: Curl is an asset.
