The City of Charlotte and Tepper Sports & Entertainment, led by David Tepper, have unveiled a comprehensive $1.3 billion renovation plan for the Bank of America Stadium. The proposal includes $650 million in public funding and $688 million from Tepper Sports & Entertainment. The renovations, set to take place between 2025 and 2029, aim to modernize the nearly 30-year-old stadium with new seats, an expanded team store, a reimagined exterior pavilion, new video boards, and an upgraded sound system. The Panthers and Charlotte FC will be able to continue playing at the stadium during the construction period. The plan also includes a 20-year non-relocation agreement, with an option to exit after 15 years. Phase 1 of the renovation includes a new field house at the practice facility. The proposal was presented to the City Council's economic development committee, and a city vote on the proposal is scheduled for June 24th.
