April has been designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a period focused on raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting prevention of sexual assault. Key figures and organizations across the United States, including Senator Cortez Masto, Representative Scholten, and various state officials such as Texas Governor Greg Abbott (GregAbbott_TX), have expressed their commitment to combating sexual assault. Efforts include educating communities, providing resources for survivors, enhancing law enforcement training to respond compassionately, as highlighted by the American Bar Association (ABAesq) and the Massachusetts Police Training Committee (MassMPTC). The New York City Council has also emphasized its mission to end sexual violence and support survivors.
