City officials, including NYC Mayor and Council Member Justin Brannan, broke ground on an $18.2 million agricultural education center at the NYCHA Marlboro Houses in Brooklyn. The center will feature a rooftop greenhouse supporting fish and plant cultivation. This project, accelerated through the NYC Department of Design and Construction's design-build process, is expected to be completed by next summer. The initiative aims to expand access to healthy local food and enhance sustainability in the urban environment. The NYC Mayor's Office announced the $18 million project.
