New York City Mayor Eric Adams presided over the city's first-ever public safety promotion ceremony at the Police Academy in College Point. The event consolidated multiple public safety agencies, including the NYPD, FDNY, DOC, and Sanitation, into one ceremony. During the event, 77 heroes from 15 different agencies were promoted. Mayor Adams also announced plans to build a unified training facility for all public safety agencies. The ceremony highlighted the achievements of NYPD executives, officers, and civilian members, as well as distinguished members of other public safety agencies. Seven members of the FDNY were among those promoted. Mayor Adams made a hard pivot to thank Sylvia Hinds-Radix and noted the accomplishments over two years.
